Terminales Canarios participates in the Bunkering & Sustainability Forum in Tenerife

Terminales Canarios participated in the Inaugural Bunkering & Sustainability Forum, held in Tenerife from 10 to 18 March, an international event focused on the present and future of marine fuel supply in island environments and medium-sized ports.

The company was represented by its Managing Director, Luis Santana, who attended the sessions alongside leading stakeholders in the maritime sector, including fuel suppliers, port authorities, shipowners, and regulatory bodies.

During the forum, the main challenges of the transition towards more sustainable fuels were addressed, with a focus on the availability of alternatives such as LNG, biofuels, and emerging options like methanol and ammonia, as well as the need to adapt port infrastructure accordingly.

The event also included a technical visit to Tenerife’s bunkering facilities, where participants were able to gain first-hand insight into current operational capabilities and their potential future development.

Through its participation, Terminales Canarios reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and the development of the maritime energy sector in the Canary Islands.
